This was my time entering, and I got chosen to be in the show! My design was based on Morai, the convor (space owl) that appears to be some sort of afterlife guide to Ahsoka. (That's the short explanation!)
I have MUCH MORE information about the build on my main site here, but the most frequently asked question was "how heavy is it?" The skirt: 20 pounds, the shawl: 10 pounds. I actually made the dress in two pieces and used buttons and hooks to achieve a seamless look while letting my legs support the weight.
This was such a fun experience, I would love to do it again.
