I was one of 24 designers (out of almost 300 who entered) selected to compete at the Her Universe Fashion show in 2018! (and the only one whose design was made primarily of yarn :)

Ahsoka's convor friend, Morai, was my main inspiration, even before we knew who she was.
I wanted to do an Ahsoka-related design, but that had already been done, so I started to think of Ahsoka-related things and Morai was the first thing that came to mind because Rebels had just ended.
Throughout Star Wars Rebels, Morai appears whenever Ahsoka appears. Toward the end of the show, we finally found out that she has a name and what her purpose was.
She's Morai, Ahsoka's friend, spirit guide, and has some relation to the Daughter.
And that connection to the Daughter from Clone Wars gave me more design elements to work with.
Freehanding crochet doesn't always end up like you'd think.
The shape of the hooded cape was the first thing I started working on, but it took 3 tries to get it right. (And I had to redo it in white.)
I made a variety of sizes of feathers before I settled on a medium-sized version.
The skirt was made and remade a few times before I started adding the feathers.
Top seemed easier for some reason, but I still ended up removing feathers because of the bulk.
Before May, I had short red hair. By July it was bright green! (Note: for about a day. It defaults to teal.)
